Τίτλος Ομιλίας : Advancing mathematics through physics motivations

Περίληψη : This talk offers a unified overview of recent mathematical developments directly inspired by problems in theoretical physics and cosmology. Three interconnected mathematical approaches are presented: the generalization of tensor theory via the concept of generalized tensor rank, the development of advanced manifold-metric pairs using functional methods, and the establishment of a kernel-based local calculus accompanied by a rigorous proof of its fundamental theorems. Concurrently, these developments are applied to specific physical problems, such as the formalism of action functionals, poly-ΛCDM dynamics, cosmological tests of the Schiff conjecture, and pulse evolution in fractional diffusion. The aim is to highlight the profound synergy between the two fields, wherein physics fuels mathematics and mathematical progress opens new avenues for understanding the universe.
